Imperial War Museum, Duxford – AirSpace Redevelopment

The AirSpace redevelopment consisted of 11 different packages of work including the centre piece 16,000m2 exhibition hall with conservation and workshop facilities and new Visitor Centre.  The main package was the £14m design and build Airspace building contract.  Other packages, all of which were separately procured through single stage tenders included reconfiguration and refurbishment of an existing building to create a new visitor centre (£1.3m), visitor centre fitout (£200k), AirpSace fitout (£700k), gas and electrical infrastructure (£500k), car park extension (£150k) and aircraft move management (involving over 130 aircraft movements including suspending 13 no. aircraft from the AirSpace roof structure)(£500k).
